I really wish my workplace did something like this. As it is, I'd like to try to adapt this into something I can do either on my own or with an accountability buddy.

When you say middle school planner, what is that? I am picturing something like the mini spiral notebooks we used to write our assignments in. Is it something like that, or is there more to it?

Re: Making and using lists

The problem with lists is that you have to remember to read them. And with ADD, I often don't.

I have more luck with weekly goals. Worked once for a company whose management paradigm included a weekly report that EVERYBODY wrote directed to his/her immediate supervisor. It included four topics, 1) Five most important things to accomplish this week, 2) Five most important things accomplished last week, 3) Things that interfered with getting work done (I don't remember how they actually phrased this, but it was supposed to be interoffice communications to facilitate work flow, and include topics like "I was supposed to get the fambrisher report done, but I didn't get the numbers from the stratine department, so the template is finished but the report can't be done until I hear from those guys", and finally 4) something along the lines of other things accomplished or that need doing with input from other departments.

Anyway, I find that 1) and 2) really help me on a weekly basis to get and keep focused and TRACK that I am accomplishing my goals. I know what to do, and I know that (if and when) I have done it. And that helps a lot.

I purchased a middle school planner, to help with keeping the weekly goals in one place and written down.

Re: Episode 1: It’s about Time (and me)

Hi there!
